Capability in engineering manufacturing is not just about having machines. It's about what your team can design, what your facility can build, what standards you can comply with, and how far your execution responsibility extends. Here is an honest picture of what Apexind brings to the table.
Apexind's engineering team handles the full design lifecycle from initial concept and process understanding through to detailed engineering, drawing release, and technical documentation. We work from client-supplied process data, site layout constraints, and performance specifications to develop equipment designs and system layouts that are practical, buildable, and compliant with applicable standards. Our design tools include AutoCAD 2D and 3D for equipment and structural drawings, with general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, bill of materials, and technical specifications prepared as standard deliverables for every project. For turnkey projects we also develop process flow diagrams, equipment lists, civil and electrical load data, control philosophy documents, and installation drawings as part of the complete engineering package.
Standards we regularly work to include CEMA for conveying equipment, IS structural steel standards, ASME for pressure vessels and heat exchangers, DIN, BS, and ISO standards as specified by the client or project requirements. Our founding team's background in FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC project execution means we understand how to develop engineering deliverables that translate cleanly into fabrication and site work without rework or ambiguity.
Structural Fabrication:
Heavy-duty steel structures including plant building frames, equipment support structures, mezzanine floors, walkways, platforms, pipe racks, and large-diameter plate-fabricated pipes and bends. Fabricated using IS structural steel sections with precision cutting, fit-up, and welding to dimensional tolerances required by the design. Surface treatment including shot blasting, primer, and finish painting applied in-house before dispatch.
Process Equipment Fabrication:
Agitators, mixers, ribbon blenders, reactors, distillation columns, evaporators, cyclones, scrubbers, and heat exchangers fabricated in MS or SS as required by the process fluid, temperature, and pressure conditions. Pressure parts fabricated in accordance with ASME or IS codes where applicable, with NDT and hydro-testing carried out as per design requirements.
Bulk Material Handling Equipment:
Conveyor systems, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, drag chain conveyors, rotary airlocks, hoppers, silos, diverter chutes, skip hoists, and associated equipment fabricated and assembled in-house. Drive systems, bearings, belting, and other bought-out components sourced from established vendors and integrated into the fabricated assembly before dispatch.
Precision Machining:
In-house machining capability for shafts, rollers, flanges, bushings, and machined components required in equipment assemblies. Turning, milling, drilling, boring, grinding, and keyway cutting operations handled on our general-purpose machine shop equipment, reducing dependence on external machining vendors for standard components.
Mild steel (IS 2062 and equivalent grades), stainless steel (SS 304, SS 316, SS 316L), galvanized steel, and abrasion-resistant steel for wear-intensive applications. Material selection is based on the operating environment, material handled, process fluid chemistry, temperature, and client specification. Material test certificates are obtained and maintained for traceability on projects where required.
MIG welding for structural and heavy fabrication work requiring speed and strength on mild steel assemblies. TIG welding for stainless steel fabrication, thin-section work, and applications where weld quality, appearance, and contamination control are critical, including food-grade and pharmaceutical equipment. All welding carried out by trained and experienced welders following approved welding procedures. NDT including dye penetrant testing and radiography arranged through approved third-party agencies where specified.
In-house surface preparation and painting for equipment and structures dispatched from our facility. Surface treatment specifications followed based on the operating environment, with options including primer and finish painting to client-specified paint systems, hot-dip galvanizing arranged through approved vendors, and electropolishing for SS equipment in pharmaceutical or food-grade applications.
Beyond fabrication, Apexind manages complete project execution including engineering, procurement of bought-out items, fabrication, factory acceptance testing, dispatch, site erection, and commissioning. Our site execution teams handle mechanical erection, alignment, grouting, and commissioning support across India. Project tracking, progress reporting, and documentation management are handled in-house throughout the project lifecycle.
Being clear about scope boundaries is as important as listing capabilities. We do not carry out civil construction, electrical installation, or instrumentation work in-house, though we coordinate these disciplines in a turnkey project context through specialist subcontractors. We do not manufacture rotating machinery such as pumps, fans, or compressors, but we supply, integrate, and commission these as bought-out items within systems we build.
